Hemoflex® is a local hemostatic agent of a new generation for rendering the first medical and emergency aid for temporary stopping of external traumatic bleeding. The main active ingredient of Hemoflex® is chitosan, a natural polymer with hemostatic activity, antibacterial properties, biocompatible and biodegradable. The use of chitosan nanofibers as part of the patented multilayer structure of Hemoflex® contributes to the enhancement of the hemostatic effect, reduces the risk of resumption of bleeding, and does not cause inflammatory reactions of body tissues.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When Hemoflex® comes into contact with blood, adhesion and aggregation of negatively charged from the outer surface of blood cells (especially red blood cells) on the positively charged surface of Hemoflex® occurs, and a gel-like clot is formed, which closes the damage zone in the vessel, which causes bleeding to stop. The use of chitosan nanofibers in the composition of the patented multilayer structure Hemoflex® enhances the hemostatic effect, reduces the risk of renewed bleeding, and does not cause inflammatory reactions of body tissues.

The main injuries received on the battlefield are penetrating ones, 75% of cases are associated with a violation of the integrity of the circulatory system. At the same time, 90% of injured die before they receive medical care.
In military operations, the evacuation of injured is often carried out with considerable delay. Therefore, the primary goal of pre-hospital care for victims should be a stop of bleeding, which is the leading cause of death from trauma.
The use of Hemoflex® for stopping bleeding allows achieving an unprecedented level of survival after receiving military wounds of 90%.
