Hemoflex® is a local hemostatic agent of a new generation for rendering the first medical and emergency aid for temporary stopping of external traumatic bleeding. The main active ingredient of Hemoflex® is chitosan, a natural polymer with hemostatic activity, antibacterial properties, biocompatible and biodegradable.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

The main active ingredient is poly-N-acetyl-1,4-β-D-glucosamine, more known as chitosan, which has a unique complex of characteristics:
  • Hemostatic and antibacterial effect
  • High biocompatibility
  • Ability to biodegradation
  • Hypoallergenic properties
  • Absence of toxicity
The hemostatic effect of Hemoflex® is achieved through the interaction of the positively charged surface of chitosan with negatively charged membranes of blood cells, which leads to a local concentration of the cellular components of the blood and the formation of a blood clot. Hemoflex® does not contain any medicines, components of the blood coagulation cascade, and proteins of animal origin.
